After a working lifetime going from nerdy engineer to financial services executive, Patrick Willis quit being a corporate drone to look for something better. Whilst working out how to put his business experience and coaching skills to better use, he found a bigger “why”:
Imagine a busy, working person walking out of the doctor’s one day being told they have a terminal illness, there are not words to describe the shock and range of emotions that come up. We 21st century Westerners like to think we’re immortal… until we’re not. As anyone who’s been there will tell you, the mental battle and pain is usually worse than the physical one, and yet most medical resources are marshalled to fixing you physically.
Having seen the turmoil and pain people receiving a terminal diagnosis go through, Patrick launched a coaching business to help them make the most of the rest of their life. To not only cope, but thrive.
Patrick’s dream is a support system that grabs the hand of every person leaving the doctor’s office with a terminal diagnosis and empowers them to live life to the full. He is currently writing a book : Unfinished Business – a handbook to thriving with a terminal illness.
