Dave Sandler is a DJ, author, pilot, survivor, speaker, and Baltimore traffic slave for almost 30 years. Hear his whole story on today’s interview with The Nice Guys.
5 years ago, Dave Sandler died of a heart attack on a softball field. “Detour Dave” is an icon in radio with almost 30 years doing traffic on 2 of Baltimore’s most popular stations, and fortunately for him, there were 2 doctors at that softball game who helped him back to life. Here’s more that you can hear about Dave in today’s interview:
• He has been DJ’ing private events for over 20 years
• He had been in broadcast radio doing traffic for almost 30 years
• His heart attack has given him a new lease on life, he is now a motivational speaker with the message to be aware of what’s happening with you and around you.
• He owns and flies his own plane and has expanded his business to include aerial photography
And a few things to learn from him:
• Anything is possible if you want it bad enough
• Don’t ever quit on your dreams
• Use your support group and lean on them hard
• Don’t do anything in your life that you won’t derive pleasure from
• You are stronger than you think
