Show Notes by Absent Co-Host : Strickland- @NiceGuyonBiz   OK so today “The Nice Girls” take over so you’d think Doug and I would get a break, right? NO! Dani’s off on some cruise with her jerk-off boyfriend (Don’t tell him I said that, he’s a lot bigger than me), Anna’s too busy applying for VanerMedia internships so she can get away from us to write today’s notes, and Mar’s just too busy doing other things so here I am writing the show notes that no one will read anyway.   You don’t believe me? Prove me wrong!! Every time I write show notes I put in some offer for free shit but nobody takes me up on it. Do you know why? Because you’re not reading this! The reason you listen to podcasts is because you don’t WANT to read! If you wanted to read you’d just subscribe to Doug’s blog (is he even writing that anymore? Oh who cares.)   You know what, no offers today. I’ve made very generous giveaway offers the last few times I’ve written show notes and I’ve gotten no response at all so forget it, no more free shit. Well, the podcast is still free, if we started charging for that you’d all leave immediately. Hey, at least we stopped trying to get sponsors. The show may suck, but at least you don’t have to listen to a million ads like Tim Ferris, Savage Lovecast, The Girls we Fucked or Mark Maron WTF, I think they have more ads than show! Even fucking NPR has ads, and they’re supposed to be “Listener Supported”, WTF is that?????? Why would I support them financially when I STILL need to listen to “This podcast is produced with great effort and dozens of staff people thanks to a generous grant from the Exxon Corporation. Exxon- We made $10 Billion dollars profit last quarter, the least we can do is sponsor a stupid NPR podcast so we seem like good guys to all the tree-huggers out there.” Fuck Exxon, I haven’t been to a gas station in 2.5 years (yes, I have an electric car. No, I’m not a tree hugger.)   Speaking of- Why does it take 27 people to produce an NPR podcast? Doug and I did it all by ourselves for 1.5 years, and then for the next year we only had Anna writing show notes, we were posting 5 episodes a week and we weren’t even making any money off of it! I guess it all paid off in the end, Turnkey Podcast is doing really well and we only had to publish 560+ episodes before we figured out how to do it. OK, that’s enough of a rant today. I guess I had to get it out of my system since I couldn’t bitch to Doug on the show today. I suppose you’re thinking I should thank you now for letting me write these show notes. Yea, THAT’S not going to happen.   PS- Steve O’Brien’s drops still make me laugh every single time. The guy’s a genius.
